What is transfer factor?

First discovered by immunologist H. Sherwood Lawrence in 1949, transfer factors are immune messenger molecules comprised of amino acids.  In mammals, these molecules are naturally produced by the body. Research suggests that these peptides are produced in colostrum and can be passed on to babies through the pre-milk. These molecules are not species-specific and therefore can be extracted from bovine (cow) colostrum and utilized in supplement form. They provide immune “knowledge” to the immune system by latching on to bad cells and acting as a marker, allowing the immune system to more effectively identify these potentially harmful cells as a threat.* Additionally, they have the unique ability to modulate the immune system, promoting Th1 and TH2 balance.*

FAQ

Is the Green Tea Extract decaffeinated?

Our raw material specifications call for only decaffeinated green tea extract. As a result, our green tea extract contains less than 2 mg of caffeine per serving. A typical cup of drip coffee may contain 115 mg – 175 mg of caffeine. A typical chocolate bar contains 30 mg of caffeine.

Is the colostrum hormone-free?

Our colostrum is from cows that are not exposed to hormones.

Is the bovine colostrum BSE-free? 

Yes. All materials of animal origin used in the preparation of this product are safe. These materials originated from sources considered being free from animal Transmissible Spongiform Encephalopathy (TSE) that includes BSE infection or contamination. It does not contain any OIE World Organization for Animal Health Specified Risk Materials. No ruminant (or other animal) material sources other than bovine lacteal secretions (colostrum/milk/milk products) are incorporated into the colostrum product.

When is the best time to take this product?

It is better absorbed when taken away from food. You may also take it at bedtime, if you have not eaten before going to bed.

Is it OK to take this product at the same time one takes enzymes?

No, primarily because the enzymes could adversely impact proper absorption. We recommend separating intake by two hours.
