If you are looking for an incredible single ferment kombucha, this is it! It is simple and only takes a few days to ferment. It will be packed with probiotics to feed your gut and is better than a store bought version! This recipe came to us from Tracey in the Gut Health Gurus Facebook Group!
Ingredients:
- 3 litres of water
- 4 green tea bags
- 4 fruit tea infusion bags of your choice
- 1 cup raw sugar
- 1 cup starter culture & scoby
Method:
-
Boil water, add tea bags, and simmer for 10 minutes.
-
Add the sugar and gently stir until sugar is dissolved.
-
Remove the tea bags and let it cool.
-
Pour into a fermenting jar.
-
Add starter culture, scoby, and cover with a clean tea towel.
-
It takes 3-4 days to be ready in the summer. You can check if there are bubbles around the scoby. Bottle to your taste or leave it another day before bottling. This is only a single ferment tea. Once bottled it will further carbonate if left in a dark cupboard.
NOTES: Double amounts for a 6 litre jar. Use any fruit teas of your choice!
